Markets enter a data-light session with no scheduled releases from Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania or Turkey. Attention will turn to any follow-up comments from Czech National Bank officials after yesterday's inflation print. Regional currencies may react to ECB speakers and US data later in the global session.
Energy prices remain a watchpoint given ongoing heat-related supply strains in central Europe. Investors will also monitor lira stability after the narrower Turkish trade gap. Sovereign yields could see further compression if risk sentiment holds, while commodity moves in Brent and gold may influence broader CEE flows.
Extreme heat across central and eastern Europe has forced temporary shutdowns of Polish coal-fired plants at Kozienice and Połaniec, adding to regional energy-supply concerns. The European Commission released the next 1.8 billion euro tranche to Romania under the Recovery and Resilience Facility after judicial milestones were met. Hungary's access to cohesion funds stays partially frozen pending further rule-of-law progress.

Softer US data and renewed questions over the timing of Federal Reserve easing weighed on global risk appetite overnight. The ECB deposit rate stands at 2.25% with Eurozone CPI at 2.90% y/y and unemployment at 6.30%. Central bankers from the ECB, Bundesbank and Bank of Canada reiterated that policy must remain data-dependent amid persistent services inflation.

Global bond markets showed mixed moves as investors parsed speeches from Fed and ECB officials.
The Czech National Bank signaled that tight policy remains warranted despite the recent inflation slowdown, with services prices still a concern. The National Bank of Poland and Magyar Nemzeti Bank are expected to stay on hold given limited domestic data and the ECB's steady stance at 2.25%. Romania's BNR continues to benefit from the EU fund disbursement, supporting its steady-rate bias.
Turkey's CBRT faces ongoing credibility challenges after the modest CPI undershoot, with markets pricing limited room for near-term easing. Policy divergence persists as the CNB and MNB track ECB moves more closely while the CBRT operates under distinct domestic constraints. Euro-adoption convergence criteria remain distant for all five central banks given elevated inflation readings outside the euro area.
