Burnham’s former economic adviser gives Budget a four out of 10

Andy Haldane, formerly the Bank of England's chief economist and an adviser to Andy Burnham, rated John Healey's Budget four out of ten and put the odds at 50 per cent that the UK economy will be weaker next year than now.

His assessment signals doubts among senior economists about whether the fiscal package does enough to support growth.
